RUFUS - Governor David Rivera condemned the shooting that happened at Roberto High School in Samson earlier this afternoon. He condemned the shooting but offered prayers of support and healing following the shooting and vowed any support necessary to prevent this in the future as well as support in the investigation.
What happened today at Roberto High School is devastating and extremely sickening. Our students deserve to go to school free of fear of being killed or maimed in shootings on the campuses. I most certainly condemn this shooting, and will work to provide any resources necessary to the investigative efforts of our state, local and federal law enforcement partners. I pray for immense healing and send my support to the students, staff, and employees of Roberto High School. I have also been in contact with President Laylin and we are coordinating resources jointly to ensure that this doesn't happen again.

RUFUS - Governor David Rivera today condemned the assassination attempt perpetrated against President Laylin as he left for North Lorray.
We need to change the course our country is on. Political violence doesn’t create a sound and strong democracy. I am happy to learn that the President was not seriously injured or killed in the assassination attempt. Political discourse is the only way to have a safe and healthy democracy. I condemn this violence to the fullest.
Charges and the shooter have not been identified, and the Federal Crimes Investigation Service are asking anyone with any details or information to come forward and report any details they may have to tipoff@pps.jesstopia.org or 1-900-490-4845.
