Gov. Rodgers Statement On Trump Shooting
FROM GOVERNOR LYNN RODGERS
For Immediate Release
July 16, 2024
RUFUS On Saturday, during a Rally for Donald Trump, former US President who is seeking election to a second term during the 2024 Presidential election, was shot after a gunman opened fire onto the former President. The heinous act, has reverberated throughout the world as an attack on democracy and the processes we here in Jesstopia hold near and dear to our hearts. The shooter was promptly and rightfully killed by Secret Service agents. The shooter later identified as 20 Year Old Thomas Matthew Cooks. The shooter again was killed on top of a elevated post the Secret Service should have checked prior to Trump's arrival.
But, I am not here to play the blame game and my sincerest condolences to all involved in the incident. This includes President Trump, his family, the Comperatore family, the 2 victims who were shot but survived and all the attendees who will live with this trauma. We as a democratic nation understand the repercussions of this horrific event, and know that change is most certainly needed to cool the temperature in the US, something that most officials needs to happen.
We've seen political tensions rise in the US and much of that culminates from hate targeted towards political officials. When there is such hate for a particular person, in this case Trump, violence and deadly action result from that hate. As a Nation, Jesstopia knows the pain of losing a major leader so the thought of the US loosing a man so devoted to his people, just breaks my heart. We as humans need to do better.
On Behalf of the State Of New Shire, we would like to send out support, prayers and well wishes to the people of the United States as they continue to reel with what just happened. Our thoughts go out to President Biden as he continues to work to uncover how this happened and to the many law enforcement and secret service officers involved.
Signed,
Lynn Rodgers
Governor Of New Shire
