Governor Rodgers Announces Fiscal Year 2025 Budget

FROM GOVERNOR LYNN RODGERS

For Immediate Release

May 18, 2024

RUFUS - Governor Rodgers has been working for the last 5 days on getting the Executive Budget passed for the 2025 Fiscal year, and was successfully able to accomplish that goal days ahead of the deadline. Gov. Rodgers issued that over 246 billion dollars will be issued over 5 departments, 3,200 schools and educational institutions and other state-wide services.

"This budget plays an important role in the functioning of our state," said Gov. Rodgers. "It is important that it gets passed as soon as possible to allow each agency to plan accordingly, their spending plans, which are submitted to our office for approval. The Executive Budget allows the state to function by funding agencies such as the Department Of Education, Department Of Justice, the New Shire State Police, The Department Of Transportation, Department Of Energy and many others."

The budget was passed by both chambers of the State Legislature early this morning and was signed by Governor Lynn Rodgers early this afternoon. The budget was approved by the Senate, who wanted to see infrastructure included in the budget. It did happen but it was less than what they wanted, but yet they still approved the budget.
